Franck Agelet worked most of his life as a teacher but was born into a family of winemakers and is now the 3 generation to continue the tradition. The retirement of his father drove him to join his brother, Sébastien (De Mena), by taking some vines from the family estate and vinifying the grapes in his family cellar in Paziols, in the haut corbières. The number 13 (beyond all superstitions) is linked to several milestones Franck’s life, starting with the day of his birth (January 13th). The name Clot ° 13, came to Franck quite naturally. Since 2018, he works with 1.2 hectares of old vines of Carignan, Grenache Noir and Syrah that his grandfather planted. The vineyard is certified organic and Franck implements biodynamic farming principles to his land. Vinification is done as naturally as possible, with minimum intervention in the cellar and without the input of any chemicals, and only a small amount of sulphites are added during bottling. The result is a lively wine with explosive notes red fruit, a silky roundness and a greedy freshness.
