Tenuta Foresto
Francesco and Pauline are young winemakers from Nizza Monferrato in the heart of Piedmont. Francesco was seeking to find a place where he could make wine from his favorite grape, Barbera. He ended up making his dream come true by finding the perfect place to grow his own grapes and make his own wine in his own style. Tenuta Foresto’s grapes are hand picked and escorted to the cellar, without the aid of any additives. In their vineyards they use a biodynamic approach and maintain a holistic and low impact ecosystem. They mainly produce Barbera, Moscato, Cortese and Chardonnay. Their vines vary from ten to seventy years old, exposure is mostly south to south-west, with tufa (limestone) throughout, with some clay and chalk (limestone again) mixed in. They are Inspired from the local winemaking traditions but they like to experiment maceration and fermentation in different unique ways.
